จากกรณีคณะรัฐมนตรีได้อนุมัติงบวงเงินลงทุนในโครงการพลังงานหมุนเวียนแบบ Hybrid เพื่อสร้างโรงไฟฟ้าพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ทุ่นลอยน้ำ ร่วมกับโรงไฟฟ้าพลังน้ำ (Hydro-Floating Solar) พื้นที่เขื่อนสิรินธร จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี โดยมีขนาดกำลังผลิต 45 เมกะวัตต์ (MW) เพื่อให้มีการติดตั้งอุปกรณ์ทั้งหมดบนทุ่นลอยน้ำบนพื้นที่ผิวน้ำเนื้อที่กว่า 450 ไร่ โดยการไฟฟ้าฝ่ายผลิตแห่งประเทศไทย หรือ กฟผ. (EGAT) ได้เปิดให้เอกชนด้านพลังงานชั้นนำทั้งในและต่างประเทศยื่นซองประมูลราคาไปเมื่อ 20 สิงหาคม 2562 ที่ผ่านมา
