Although the hospital industry faced the domestic economy that is expected to weaken in 2020, it is expected to increase health insurance patients and international patients. In 9M19, the number of foreign patients increased by 7%YoY which comes from revenue from UAE patients (+ 78%), Oman (+ 67%), and Cambodia (+ 17%) because medical expenses in Thailand are not that high when compared to other countries.

นายเศรษฐพุฒิ สุทธิวาทนฤพุฒิ ผู้ว่าการ ธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย (ธปท.) มองว่า ปัญหาการแพร่ระบาดของไวรัสโควิด-19 ได้ส่งผลกระทบต่อสุขภาพทางการเงินของคนไทย ทำให้มีภาระหนี้ที่เพิ่มขึ้น โดยล่าสุด สัดส่วนหนี้ครัวเรือนของไทยในไตรมาส 2/63 อยู่ที่ 83.8% ต่อจีพีดี หรือคิดเป็นมูล่า 13.58 ล้านล้านบาท เพิ่มขึ้นจากสิ้นปี 62 ที่อยู่ในระดับ 80% ต่อจีดีพี หรือคิดเป็นมูลค่า 13.49 ล้านล้านบาท และยังมีแนวโน้มเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง
