TOP’s 2Q19 profit was THB 566.91 million, decreased 88.18% from a net profit of 4,794.75 million in 2Q18. When compared 2Q19 with 2Q18, TOP had sales revenue of THB 91,962 million, decreased by THB 4,675 million due to planned major turnarounds since mid-June and decreases in product selling prices. GIM including stock gain/ (loss) of 6.9 US$/bbl from lower GRM from decreased petroleum product spreads, particularly gasoline, jet/kero and gas oil spreads which substantially dropped due to surplus supply.

The airline stated in its announcement to the Stock Exchange, saying that it expected to eliminate 8,500 positions across the Cathay Pacific Group (including Cathay Dragon), which accounts for around 24% of the Cathay Pacific Group’s established headcount of 35,000. Of these 8,500 positions, approximately 5,300 Hong Kong-based employees will be made redundant in the coming weeks, with approximately 600 employees based outside of Hong Kong possibly being affected subject to local regulatory requirements.

โดยเป็นการซื้อหุ้นจากผู้ถือหุ้นใหญ่ของ CSL สองราย ได้แก่ บริษัท ไทยคม จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ THCOM ซึ่งเป็นผู้ถือหุ้นใหญ่ของ CSL โดยถือผ่านบริษัท ดีทีวี เซอร์วิส จำกัด ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทย่อยจำนวนร้อยละ 42.07 และ Singapore Telecommunication Limited (SingTel) ผู้ถือหุ้นใหญ่ของ CSL จำนวนร้อยละ 14.14 รวมทั้ง 2 รายการคิดเป็นการเข้าซื้อหุ้น CSL รวมร้อยละ 56.21 โดยมีราคาเสนอซื้อเบื้องต้นที่ประมาณ 7.80 บาทต่อหุ้น ซึ่งราคาดังกล่าวอาจมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงได้จากผลของการตรวจสอบสถานะกิจการ (Due diligence) และ/หรือ การเจรจาต่อรอง
