นักลงทุนมองว่าข้อมูลแรงงานล่าสุดของสหรัฐยังคงอยู่ในระดับที่แข็งแกร่ง จึงได้ลดการถือครองทองคำซึ่งเป็นสินทรัพย์ที่ปลอดภัย โดยเมื่อช่วงค่ำวานนี้ตามเวลาไทย กระทรวงแรงงานสหรัฐเปิดเผยว่า จำนวนผู้ขอรับสวัสดิการว่างงานครั้งแรกในรอบสัปดาห์ซึ่งสิ้นสุดวันที่ 16 พ.ค. เพิ่มขึ้น 10,000 ราย แตะ 274,000 ราย แต่ตัวเลขดังกล่าวยังคงต่ำกว่าระดับ 300,000 รายเป็นสัปดาห์ที่ 11 ติดต่อกัน ซึ่งเป็นสัญญาณบ่งชี้ว่าตลาดแรงงานยังคงมีความแข็งแกร่ง

ด้วยเหตุดังกล่าว สมาคมองค์การพิทักษ์รัฐธรรมนูญไทย จำนำความมาร้องเรียนต่อคณะกรรมการการเลือกตั้ง (กกต.) เพื่อขอให้สั่งพรรคการเมืองต่าง ๆ ดำเนินการให้ครบถ้วนและถูกต้องภายในระยะเวลาที่ กกต.กำหนดก่อนการลงคะแนนเลือกตั้ง ซึ่งหากพรรคการเมืองใดไม่ปฏิบัติตามคำสั่งของ กกต. ดำเนินการลงโทษ โดยปรับไม่เกิน 5 แสนบาท และปรับอีกวันละ 1 หมื่นบาทตลอดระยะเวลาที่ยังมิได้ปฏิบัติให้ถูกต้อง ตามมาตรา 121 ของ พรป.ว่าด้วยพรรคการเมือง 2560 ต่อไป
