โดยปัจจุบันกลุ่ม ปตท.มีการลงทุนในเมียนมาหลายประเภท แต่การลงทุนขนาดใหญ่เป็นการสำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียมหลายแปลง ผ่านทาง บมจ.ปตท.สำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียม (PTTEP) รวมถึงก่อนหน้านี้ยังเคยศึกษาการก่อสร้างสถานีรับ-จ่าย LNG ในพื้นที่ KANBAUK อีกทั้งคณะกรรมการนโยบายพลังงานแห่งชาติ (กพช.) เคยมอบหมายให้ปตท.ศึกษาโครงการก่อสร้างสถานีรับ-จ่าย LNG ในรูปแบบเรือลอยน้ำ (FSRU) ในเมียนมาด้วย
