นายฉัตรชัย มาวงศ์ ผู้อำนวยการฝ่ายพัฒนาโรงไฟฟ้าพลังน้ำและพลังงานหมุนเวียน การไฟฟ้าฝ่ายผลิตแห่งประเทศไทย (กฟผ.) เปิดเผยว่า กฟผ. ออกประกาศงานประกวดราคาจัดซื้อและจ้างก่อสร้างโครงการผลิตไฟฟ้าจากเซลล์แสงอาทิตย์ติดตั้งบนทุ่นลอยน้ำ สำหรับโครงการโรงไฟฟ้าพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ทุ่นลอยน้ำร่วมกับโรงไฟฟ้าพลังน้ำเขื่อนสิรินธร (Hydro-Floating Solar Hybrid) ขนาดกำลังผลิต 45 เมกะวัตต์ (MW) ซึ่งเป็นโครงการนำร่องของ กฟผ. และเป็นโครงการโซลาร์เซลล์ลอยน้ำแบบไฮบริดแห่งแรกที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก
